Registered Veterinary Technicians

Your pet deserves the best care! That is why we have registered veterinary technicians to assist in the care of your pet. RVTs are your pet's "nurses". Whether they are drawing blood from your pet, placing an IV catheter, monitoring anesthesia, or assisting in surgery, our RVTs offer your pet exceptional care. Our RVTs are up to date on major developments in veterinary medicine through continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, regional and national meetings as well as regular staff meetings. We feel very fortunate to have two RVTs in our practice.

Christy E. Barnes

Christy graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a degree in Horse Science Technology in 1995. A few years later, she returned to Kirkwood and completed the veterinary technician program in 1999. Following graduation, she joined the Thomas Vet team. Christy works primarily with our equine patients and shows a great deal of skill and patience with them. She also has a special interest in anesthesia.

Tiffany R. Moyer

Tiffany graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in 2005 and joined our team following graduation. Tiffany works primarily with our small animal patients. Since joining our practice she has helped us expand our dentistry services and client education. It is very evident that she loves animals and she can often be found making sure patients get the extra TLC they deserve.

Amber D. Hanna

Amber joined the Thomas Vet team in August 2004. She works assisting the veterinarians and techinicians with both the small and large animals. She has a special interest in horses and has completed training in equine massage therapy. She is always willing to go the extra mile and lend a helping hand wherever needed around the clinic.

Receptionists

You deserve the best care! Our Receptionists assist you in many ways. They do much more than make appointments and answer phones. Our well-trained staff can offer you advice on pet food, treats, retail items, and dental care. They will be glad to assist you in any way they can whether in person or on the telephone. All of our receptionists have been members of the Thomas Vet team for many years and we appreciate their dedication to the practice.

Four Legged Staff

Archie

Archie was born at Thomas Veterinary Clinic in 1991 and has been a permanent resident since his birth. He is pretty much the ruler of the clinic. In his spare time he enjoys basking in the sun and greeting clients at the front counter. He is more than happy to provide lap time and love to anyone who is interested.

Chloe

Chloe has lived at Thomas Veterinary Clinic since 2002, when she came in as a stray. Shortly after arrival, she added three kittens to the family, for which we found homes. Since then she has become manager of rodent control around the clinic. She also likes to steal the office chairs if you leave them unoccupied.

Willy

Willy is the newest addition to our four legged staff. He joined the group in October of 2005, when he came in for treatment following a dogfight and liked it so much he never left. He is the playful one of the bunch and can often be found chasing toys up and down the hall. He also likes to challenge Archie for the position of official clinic greeter.
